Iraqi cleric urges US to comply with int'l regulations

Head of the National Wisdom Movement of Iraq condemned the unilateral sanctions against Iran and urged the US to comply with the international regulations.

Addressing a meeting with Iran ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi, Ammar Hakim stressed the importance of focusing on the commonalities between two countries.
Expressing opposition against unilateral sanctions against Iran, he said US act is dangerous in international relations.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest political developments in Iraq and in the region as well as bilateral relations between Iran and Iraq.
Earlier in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Iraq, Hakim stressed the fact that anti-Iran sanctions further determine Baghdad to cement relations with Tehran.
He added that Iraq is monitoring cruel and unilateral sanctions against Iran.
He also described US imposition of unilateral sanctions as an unprecedented act in international interactions.
Head of Iraqi National Wisdom Movement went on to say that Iran's role in fighting Daesh terrorist group is undeniable.
