Leader demands urgent reconstruction of flood-hit provinces

Addressing a meeting with a group of governmental officials and ambassadors of Islamic countries to Tehran, the Leader highlighted the fact that today the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic system are the continuation of the First Revelation of the Prophet Mohammad (AS).

Referring to recent floods in a number of Iranian provinces, he praised people’s attempts and their solidarity, saying the officials were able to take primary measures thanks to the popular support they received.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to First Revelation of the Prophet Mohammad (AS), saying that the oppressor powers have always been in action against monotheistic movements, examples of them today being the presidents of US and some other countries.

Elaborating on Israeli regime’s aggression as vivid example of oppressors' warmongering attitudes, he said the confrontation of Palestinians, Lebanese Hezbollah with the Zionist regime and also Iran’s eight-year Sacred Defense are true examples of Jihad for God.

He vowed Iranians’ victory against enemies namely US and its followers if they follow the same path.

Meanwhile, Supreme Leader urged all, especially young people, to have active participation in science, technology, morality, life style, economic, cultural and political scenes.

Meanwhile, the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani who was also addressing the event, referred to unity and cooperation among people, government and armed forces in the recent floods, saying the enemies which impeded sending humanitarian aids to Iranian flood-stricken people by blocking the Red Crescent’s accounts have been discredited.

Describing resistance against conspiracies of the enemies of Islam as regard Quds and Golan Heights as an important achievement for the Islamic Ummah, Rouhani said neither Quds will become the capital of aggressors nor Golan will be separated from Syria.

Enemies will not be able to submit Muslim nations against occupier and aggressor regime of Israel, he noted.

Unprecedented heavy rains caused floods in various parts of Iran over the past two weeks. Scores of people were killed and injured and a large number were displaced across Iran.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said the US has blocked Red Crescent’s accounts and hampered issuing humanitarian aids from other countries to Iranian flood-stricken people.

He added that the US act which happened on the occasion of the anniversary of its withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is an indication of US officials’ anti-popular approach which is in contrast with their ridiculous slogans and claims saying sanctions are not against the Iranian people, but in favor of them.

Normally, all banking systems will not be blocked even in difficult and emergency conditions and sending humanitarian aids will be possible through International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Qasemi said, adding that the US in an inhumane and cruel approach has blocked all humanitarian assistance to flood-hit people.
