We’re going to New York with slogan of “Coalition of Hope”, “Hormuz Peace Initiative”

Speaking on Sunday morning at the armed forces’ parade ceremony marking Sacred Defence Week, President Hassan Rouhani said, “Iran’s Islamic Revolution reached victory for independence, freedom and realisation of popular and Islamic justice”.
He continued, “Islamic Revolution could be beneficial for the entire region and the world, but its enemies stood against the will power of the Iranian nation and began their forlorn attempts”.
“The enemies of the Iranian revolution and people plotted to undermine our security and defence power,” he said.
Dr Rouhani continued, “The enemies’ first plot was to disband the Army, trying to undermine the commandership system under the name of council”.
“But the Late Imam Khomeini (RA) made a wise decision as his first command by calling on people to stand against all conspirators, and the brave young people and armed forces from Khuzestan to Kurdistan, Golestan and Sistan & Baluchistan rushed to stand against those who wanted to undermine the Revolution”.
He added, “Under Imam Khomeini’s (RA) leadership and people’s unity and support, our armed forces resisted the enemies for 8 years”.
“They imposed war on us using the East’s ideology, the West's weapons and the regional reactionaries’ money, but the people were not afraid of the West and the East,” continued the President.
Stressing that with the power and authority of the armed forces and great nation of Iran, the enemy does not dare to carry out acts of aggression towards our Islamic Iran, he said, “We are always ready for defence, but not surrender, and will not let anyone trespass our borders”.
“As the enemies’ main goal during the Sacred Defence was to destroy our revolution, today, they are chasing the same goal with their psychological and economic war,” said the President.
Stating that, “Today, the enemies have chosen economic war, and indeed economic terrorism, against the Iranian people,” he said, “Wherever the US entered, it led the process of undermining security, whether in Afghanistan or in the Persian Gulf”.
Dr Rouhani went on to say, “Wherever the Iranian Armed Forces went, they promoted security, whether in Iraq or in Syria and Lebanon”.
President said, “We extend the hand of friendship to all our neighbours at this critical juncture. To do so, we are ready to even forgive their past mistakes, because we are in conditions that the enemies of the region, especially the United States, Imperialism and Zionism are seeking to take advantage of division”.
Dr Rouhani continued, “Our logic is based on self-ensuring security for the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, and the presence of foreign forces in this region can cause problems”.
“This year, we are going to New York with the slogan of ‘Coalition of Hope’ and ‘Hormuz Peace Initiative’. This year, we are going to propose an initiative in the United Nations that is based on the fact that the Islamic Republic of Iran can ensure the security of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman with the help of regional countries,” he said.
President Rouhani added, “We announce to the world that the presence of foreign forces undermines security of navigation and oil and energy, but the path that the Islamic Republic of Iran has taken is based on unity, solidarity and coordination with regional countries”.
The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran also went on to say, “Attributing bad events in the region to Iran is the repetition of the previous unproven lies”.
“We have always sought goodwill and peace with the countries of the region, but the powers were seeking to plunder them,” he continued.
Stating that, “If they really want security in the region, they need to stay away from it,” he said, “The enemies do not date to carry out acts of aggression against Islamic Iran because of the experience of the Sacred Defence”.
